Why you should never trust telstra to get anything fixed
« on: November 06, 2009, 06:36:46 PM »
These are my phone lines
I am a Telstra only customer Bigpond for net telstra for phone (not by choice) and this is what i get
http://lukestone.no-ip.net/telstrafail/
It has been like this for about 2 years
This all started when we where having excessive noise on the line causing the internet to drop out so Telstra's fix was to run it along the fence.
Ok so that "worked" for about a year then when it came time to put the bull in that paddock (which the paddock was built for) it decided that the the phone wire was tasty (you can guess what happen here)
Then it took them a week to come out and do that sticky tape fix
not to mention that fence is electric (I don't even want to know what that is doing to my modem)

So now is time to tell pepole how dodgy they are so that pepole can avoid them if at all possible

More will be added as it happens/developed

Probaly so you would go over your bandwidth. Does yours get slowed or you get charged when you get over?

well it can be as bad as international roaming on Telstra NextG
Try $63 per MB

All larger bigpond plans are shaped
All smaller bigpond plans (less then 1GB) cost lots i have seen people get $3000 bills

Still. I know that Exetel charges after you go over your download limit. But I mean. Who does?

Exetel's over limit charge is nothing compared to telstra/bigpond
telstra/bigpond = 15c/MB = $150 per GB
Exetel = $3/GB

Exetel gives you the choice between them; I'd much rather $3/GB than get capped anyway.
