Its pretty much a copy of CoD's hardcore mode. Cept.. Way more hardcore. And well.. Not much fun by the sounds of it.
You die pretty dam quick on realism.. one shot kill doesn't really interest me.. Not much tactics.. Not much anything.. Just death on sight. Zz @ that.

One shot kill is pretty much what would happen in real life. A shotgun shell to the chest even if you have armor on would still kill you.

That's why it's called REALSIM mode.

So is this Hardcore mode an actual difficulty? Or just what you're calling Realism cause it's a bitch? Cause mine doesn't show any "Hardcore" mode, and I've completed the campaign on Realism so it ain't no unlock of sorts.

Mmm. Nope. Kevlar armour padding absorbs rifle bullets. Which have much more force behind them then shotgun pellets. So, nope. your wrong. A shotgun blast would definitely kill an unarmoured person, that's obvious enough. But considering pretty much everyone in R6V2 wears Kevlar, and dies in one shot anyone, it doesn't strike me as too life like. Its just a tactical shooter, in which you die quickly.
PR, or ARMA or another Military Sim is probably more on the money if you want "Life Like"
Otherwise, in RL, Kevlar protects from a whole range of bullets. Including shotguns.. Which probably aren't even really used during a real terrorist attack/Invasion.

They probably put the shotgun in so that people on consoles don't have to aim
I am currently trying to get the dedicated server working so i can use it as a comp

So far i have the COD4 and COD2 servers up
I may get the codwaw server up soon
and i have some free open source game servers up and i will keep adding games that i find that look interesting

Methinks luke, your probably spot on the money there.
Consoles wouldn't be so bad if PC games didn't get dumbed down for them.

Make sure you find the R6V2 server though.. Important ;).

Mm LAN so close now =D

Thats pretty much what I was referring to haha.
Fucking Infinity Ward bastards.
I heard on the grapevine however.. Some people are (or have??) cracked some dedicated servers.
Maybe someone should sniff around for one?

Yeah there are dedicated servers out, from what I've heard it wasn't hard extracting the proper code from the game - since IW are lazy whores who still use the CoD4 engine and never bothered to take the dedicated servers out. If you ask me, I say that they were asking for this to happen.

And yeah, R6v2 server would be nice - assuming I have easy control over it, lol. Otherwise I'll just make a listen server, works fine, especially for LANs.

Mm I like that. So we can play CoD6 at the lan?

Yeah R6V2 isn't really demanding.. So a listen server or a simple hosted game would work quite easily on an adaquate system.

Doubtful.

That's what I'm here for :P

I want an RTS nao.

I'm up for..
Supreme Commander
Company of Heroes
Universe at War: Earth Assault (CnC1 but with aliens and DX10)
Dawn of War 1 and/or 2
Grand Ages: Rome (if anyone has it, which I doubt)

So there's a nice little collection of RTS's, take your pick lol. I'd love to get a game(or ten) of UAW:EA, it's a pretty fun game and has giant walkers which take up a large percentage of your screen lol. Comes with AvP preorder if you got it via Steam, otherwise, it's like, $20. Has Windows LIVE though, same as DoW2, which I'm not sure is permitted at the LAN, though I do believe LAN games will still work - though that hasn't been tested.
