RandLAN #12 Feedback Thread
« on: April 01, 2010, 09:48:42 AM »
Well the first night of the LAN was good but everyone decided to leave for the second night for no apparent reason

Also there are a few issues with the use of the kitchen, to put it simply the mess that was left there was disgusting you must clean up your mess or you will not be aloud to use it in the future.

Other then that the LAN seamed to go well

I saw no reason for staying the second night. Half the bloody LAN was gone by then and no one was bothering with games, wouldn't exactly have been able to get any decent games going with the what, half a dozen left?

So yeah, no more two night LANs until the typical number on attendees is 40+ imo, or if no one was 18 and over magically anymore so people didn't leave for obvious reasons.

Also can we finally fuck off DC++?

And since you cheap fuckers don't want to buy games, at least keep the cracked ones you've currently got UP TO DATE (at least Jason tries and will be for next LAN, good work dude), I mean ffs, I might as well stay at home at least I'd be able to find more people to play certain, non-cracked games with /rant.

Half the time the people on this forum bitch and shit about there not being enough variety or people don't have the good games. How the fucking hell do you expect people to purchase so many LEGAL games? People don't have many out there anus.

Games we can - but don't for some stupid fucking reason - play - http://randlan.net/smf/index.php/topic,332.msg3611.html#msg3611

They are also "the good games", a simple fucking list right there, how hard is it to look at that then go have a look at those games and decide if you want to download/buy them? It's honestly not. How hard is it to purchase games off Steam? How hard is it to walk/ride/drive down to EB or equiv to buy a game? And ffs how hard is it to just DOWNLOAD a game off ThePirateBay or any other site? Really?

Newsflash people: games AREN'T expensive. You're looking at $20-$50 for most decent games, $10 for Indi games which aren't half bad sometimes, only heavy-weight titles like BC2/MW2 etc are higher cost than that. Do the dishes, do the bloody lawn, I'm sure your parents give you some extra "pocket" money to get some games. Don't buy heaps of V or Mother for a LAN, don't buy a shit ton of junkfood, and BAM there's money for a game or two.

Just.. fuck. I might as well come to the next LAN with a large external and my lappy, no real point bringing shit to game on unless you wana play the played-to-death CoD franchise or SupCom.

Also about the complaining about a lack of games to play, please refer to the link posted at the beginning of this post. You want something new/different to play? Look there and you're fucken set.

sader has a point but im sure it could have been done in a slightly nicer tone, if you want a game theres a 90% chance someone has it @ the lan if you looked on DC last lan you would have seen most of the latest titles shared and if thats too much effort there was even an external hard drive being thrown around to help the less competant get the games.

also most games we play are shared on \\randlan2 for all 2 see
Next lan ill be running some competitions which i will announce in a different thread sometime later

I had fun the first night/2nd day.
The 2nd night failed miserably cos all the little kiddies had to go home.
Which left us with only the older people.
Which in turn got boring cos people like Crusader bitch and whinge about games.
Or don't want to play some specific game.
Starcraft was fucking fun. First time played @ LAN. And we had full slots.
Obviously enough, that game was the funnest RTS we played that night.
BUT NOOOO. ITS OLD. WELL FUCK YOU.

And on the leaving the 2nd night, there really wasn't any reason to stay.

At what time was I bitching about games? WE WEREN'T FUCKING PLAYING ANY MOST OF THE TIME.

Starcraft, fun? For people who have fuck knows how much more experience, sure, for others - speaking for myself - it was shit. We only had full slots cause it was only game going; except maybe MW1 which only the children were playing at the time. Age-wise? It falls under the same category as XP; when it's old as fuck and there's numerous newer alternatives, it's time to throw it the fuck out. And I really could not give a fuck if it's still being played competitively by a bunch of fucken Asians.

I'm more than willing to play numerous other games, it's just that you useless fucking pricks either A) don't have them, or B) don't have them legit meaning we can't play - no I'm not uninstalling my legit to install the cracked version, fuck you.

The day people stop pirating games and buying them will be a grand one, but that will never happen now will it.

Cry more.
Because you don't like it doesn't mean other people do.
Speaking of legit games, lets play company of heroes and sins next time

Why I said; "Speaking for myself".

I wouldn't mind playing CoH - LATEST CoH - none of this vCoH bs just because people can't don't buy epic games. And I'm usually up for Sins, though typically it's going to have to be a small game for obvious reasons.

I think we're a tiny bit further than 2.6, like, 2.6.4 or something lol. What's it coming up with? If anything.

Mm.
I dunno the exact version.
My current version according to the game offline is 2.6 something.
When it tries to apply the latest patch it says "your game is patched to 2.0.0.0, our current version is 2.6 something, you suck"
Ill have to reinstall and download everything again I think.
